Batik Fabric Look

I'm playing along with App Happy Wednesday today - I created a batik fabric look from a photo taken on my phone.

Batik-Like Fabric Tulip

I used the Basic Camera App to take a photo of a bright orange and yellow tulip against a dark wood table.

Then I used the Tangent App to add a graphic element of white dots around the tulip.

Into the Waterlogue App - twice.  Once in the "Natural" style for a soft watercolor look and again in "It's Technical" style for contrast and deep color lines.  

I put both versions that were created in the Waterlogue app into the Diana App and combined them in the "Dreamland" filter - this adds a few bleached-like spots around the tulip.  I adjusted it a bit so that more of the "It's Technical" shown through.

I put the combined version into the PicGrunger App.  I applied the "Scuffed" effect and the "Canvas" texture to create the faded fabric look.

That's it!! It is so much fun to create art, wherever I am, with just my phone.

Antique Spoons

I'm joining Texture Tuesday and BeStill52 with photos of some of my antique serving spoons.

I love the golden patina in the bowl of the ladle below and the worn edges of this serving spoon.  I also love the softness, and frayed edges, of the creamy white cheesecloth.

I used two of Kim Klassen's textures on the photo above - "Just a Touch" and "Pinit 8".

Hydrangeas

I'm joining App Happy Wednesday with a couple of Hydrangea pictures.

I used just the basic camera app on my phone to take the picture.
Into PS touch to play with levels and crop.
Into PicTapGo for a couple of filters.
and finally into Phonto for the type!

Birds and Statues

Finding a bit of joy today.

Just a handful of seed, nestled into the basin of this little garden statue, was enough to draw a feathery friend to visit.

Dramatic Daylily

Playing with images on my phone today and joining App Happy Wednesday too!

Dramatic Daylily

Snapped a photo of a bright orange daylily with just the Camera app.  Use the Noir app to change the lighting and give it a dramatic B&W look and then into VSCOcam app to give it a matte look and to add dark purple to the shadows and soft brown to the highlights.

Backyard Wildlife

I love our backyard in the summer, it is so green and lush.  The summer sun is golden and warm, the garden is full of blooming flowers, and the rows of vegetables are flourishing.

Small animals are invited too - a basin of water, bird feeders, and dried corn cobs.

It is such a delight to witness a little bit of wildlife in our chain-linked fenced suburban neighborhood.

Summertime Daisy

A few days ago I picked up a bunch of colorful daisies.

I love the daisy - it's such a happy flower and it always reminds me of summer.
