Texture Tuesday {Gratitude}
I am grateful for the silliness of my canine buddies. This just makes me smile.

{Texture Tuesday}
Fire in a snow storm
Tiny pellets of icy snow started falling while we were winterizing the rose bed. As the ice drops gave way to snowflakes, we decided to start a fire while we continued to work at cleaning the last of autumn from the gardens.
I love watching the flames dance and flicker, listening to the snapping and crackling, smelling the hot woodsy scent.

Little red headed visitor
I haven’t posted for a while; I’ve been so, so busy lately.
I don’t know what kind of bird this is, but his/her coloring is so pretty.
I used Kim Klassen’s The Leaf and Broken Book textures.

Texture Tuesday {Times 2}
Off the beaten path . . .
A while back we pulled off of the highway to explore some old country roads and spotted this old silo with a tree growing through the center. I snapped a bunch of pictures during that drive but it’s this photo that I keep coming back to.
I’ve spent too much time wondering how this tree survived. As a sapling growing in a darkened space its only sun would be at high noon. Wondering if silos have cement floors, and if they do, where did this tree plant its roots? Do birds enjoy its protected space?
It’s really a wonder that it survived . . .
I used Kim Klassen's Canvas Back and Warmly Cracked textures (2 layers of each).

Buttercup Squash
I love the curly Q’s and texture of the stems, and the dark green dimpled skin of this winter squash.

Autumn Splendor
I love the pinks and purples in these leaves.
I pulled some of the colors out of the photo, and put them into a color chart.
